Whats your's like???

And if it wasn't for the LWR and LWD how many 1200 Adv's do you honestly think they would have sold?

Only time will tell which is the better bike but for now I'd put a fiver on my 55 SE being worth more than most 1200's in years to come.

Still a few of the old dinosaurs kicking about then. The numbers are reducing as the amount of negative comments on this type of thread is usually much greater.

The usual suspects never let you down :D

I love your white 07 1200 GSA too (probably) :thumb2

Glad to hear there is at least one 1200 owner who's happy, apart from me. Well I would be if it wasn't for that there buffeting.

:aidan

I love mine and don't get any buffeting either...how about that:D

That won't have anything to do with which is the better bike, don't forget that more 1200s have already been sold than the entire production of all the variants of the GS 1150 of which yours is probably the nicest and the rarest.
I own a 12Adv but I could buy a 1150 SE if I wanted or any other bike for that matter. Just today I was in the dealers and decided to keep mine for another year, it does everything I want of a bike.
I have been on this board long enough to remember all the talk about FD failures on the 1150s and the residual braking posts, remember those? How the 1100 was the best ever GS yet mine was the worst bike I ever owned.

It is all very subjective, go for what pleases you and don't loose sleep about what others have. Personally I really couldn't care less what you ride nor will I try to convince you that my bike is better than yours. Maybe you are just another bitter person with a small willie :D

I am another very happy 07 GSA owner,:D:D no probs,:augie The second best thing I have done in my life,:thumb2 best not say the first she will get big headed.:P

About time we had some good comments on here about 1200'S :thumb2

Well just to make your day I think the white ones like yours are the nicest 1200adv :D

.....He shoots, he scores!

I came to the apparent Nirvana of BuMW ownership after years of, far from perfect, Hondas.

I had ridden the 1100 and the 1150 variants over the years, mostly borrowed from friends but couldn't see any great reason to change. These 'loan' bikes included the vanilla, Adventure, 'Special edition' and 'Dakar' varieties, all good bikes in their way but not what I wanted. Then, when trundling up to Calais on my 50,000 mile Blackbird, I suddenly realised that I no longer wanted to go at 180 mph....

I tried the 1200 (vanilla version) with its integral luggage, not having seen LWR (weren't they on 1150's?) and thought it suited the type of riding I do most....in Europe, long distance / hooning around. It was a better bike than my old Pan and was as much fun as the B'bird. Clocked up 18,000 miles in a year and thought to myself, 'This is a really good bike', much as all the press and www. hyperbole said it was / is.

I then traded up to the 1200GSA. A bit larger and a bit lardier but I love the tank range and the standard BuMW luggage. Is it perfect? No, of course not.

I had the usual 1200 software problem on the vanilla bike (manifested itself through the GPS switching itself off at random) - which was fixed for free. I have had a new final drive after 23 months and 24,000 miles on the GSA (for free) I have also, just, had the gear position potentiometer replaced, for free. Now, after 26,000 miles, I am going to change the suspension, which is tired. I carry a spare ring-antenna and a fuel controller. If I never have to use them they won't go off. For anything else, terminal, I have recovery insurance....just as I had for my Honda.
