Good evening

I have a 56 plate GS 1200 with standard alloy wheels, I want to chance the wheels to spoked GSA wheels.

I have found a set from a 06 plate GSA. Are they the same fitting? I shall being using my original discs etc

Advice greatly received

Andy

My cast wheels were a straight swap for the wire wheels but they came to me complete with discs and wheel bolts.

The cast wheels will cope with winter salt a lot better than the wires. Electrolytic action between stainless spokes and alloy rim and hub.

If yours have any signs of corrosion creeping under the paint do get them refinished. The BMW paint is VERY tough but once it does pin hole corrosion can go a long way before it looks anything much. Biostrip dipping is the best way to remove the paint. Its too hard to grit blast away from the soft alloy underneath.

I swapped my '06 from alloys to spoked. Buy new disc bolts because you'll probably mess up the old ones getting them out, and as said you'll need the 5 bolts for mounting the rear wheel, they're a little longer.

Better still buy a pair of discs to suit the new wheels then its a quick swap. The wires will need their own (longer) rear wheel bolts.

Thanks for all the advice. Set of wheels purchased along with 5 new wheel bolts and new disc bolts.
