can the 1150GSAdv wheels be rebuilt?

does anyone know of a builder in the UK or germany or wherever?

Would like to know the options before going to the Picos!

I'm not aware of anyone in the UK who rebuilds the GS cross spoke wheels?

Only person I've heard of was in the States & he was $$$$$$

i've spoken to the guy at brickwood & he says he can do it, but charges double normal rate for the job.

apparently it's a bit hit & miss. if you don't get it right first time, you have to start again from scratch. no tweaking is possible.

I- anyway with your antics it looks as though you need two sets of wheels anyway.

cheeky devil!

I think you are right though.

the standard 1150GS wheel - must fit the adv then. what about the 1100 wheel?

Hagon list rebuilding of BMW tubeless wire wheels, might be worth asking if they do the more exotic machines you ride. 0208 502 6222. They give a price of £60 less parts vat inclusive. Never used them and I have no connection to them, i'm just a sad collector of brochures at bike shows! They are in the south Hainault in Essex.

You have to make sure that the ABS system is compatible - you can't put a new ADV wheel on a 2003 model and it might be the same for the 1100.

Wheel rebuilding.... Late entry I know!!

I called a small company in Leek Staffordshire yesterday morning, according to several people this guy is the best, he's supposed to build for Dougie Lampkin (not sure how true). He's called Stan Hill, his number is 01538 373721. They quoted me £25 per wheel rebuild VAT inclusive, I would have to provide my own spokes though. I priced those at £39 per wheel from Motorworks.

Hope this is of help and not too late!
