When is the rt1300 due?

GSA at the end of the year so I guess RT end of next year
If it follows the normal path, end of this year. The RT and GSA normally arrive at the same time, with RS a year later. To add to that I have spoken to the authority bike team and they indicated the 1300 would be here this year and it would be a totally different bike, so none of the current kit will fit.

Thanks!

Now that the GS has all the toys of the RT - central locking, electric screen, radar cruise - I wonder how BMW will keep the RT as an attractive alternative. Apart from the fairing of course.....

I think the BMW mantra will be that they will keep building it as long as folk keep buying it - that's the official line for the K16.

They’ll give it four wheels and a roof. A touring bike with a roof is no more ridiculous than an adventure bike with central locking luggage…

the old high vis w@nkers will still love the RT

The RT will likely have all the toys of the GS but add a radio, programable buttons, extra storage, better weather protection, lower seat height and a more laid back relaxed seating position at a guess keeping it king of the twin cylinder touring bikes. It won't use a fugly "X" headlamp (hopefully!) plus it'll likely out handle most other tourers too. Can only go on experience with current RTs V's similar bikes I've ridden and I'd take the RT over all of them, including the K1600 or the GS.

There are people like me, w@nkers or not, who prefer RTs. I have had 3 of each - 4 GSs actually - since 2000. I also absolutely love my bagger k16. I still also have my uk bought “graphitan” 1150 which i keep in southern europe . I have always liked the style and adveturist whiff of the GS (esp since the charlie-mac era)as well as the magic carpet ride over bad tarmac, but have often reverted back to an RT. Dynamically very similar, better motorway cruiser, classically prettier since 2005, and most importantly for street parking in the central London sh8thole I chose to live: my RT was 3.5x cheaper to insure than my GS, £1500 vs £4k, like for like. Until 2 years ago. Now a GS on streetparking in London is uninsurable for me. So the topic is academic in terms of day to day use, and the rented car spot res garage is full of other bikes that take emotional priority over any new £25k toy.

If only what bike you ride was an indication if your a w@nker :) You just have to read some of the posts on here to see that being a w@nker has nothing to do with what bike you ride. Never owned a GS and never wanted to own one, RT is fine for my needs.

Got to say that the styling on that looks as hideous as on the new GSA!
Only good thing is it may mean some good deals to be had on outgoing 1250 RTs.

Unless the guy riding the bike is 7" tall it looks compact. Noticed that there is no lower fairing? Slim panniers?

Oh dear spoilt that a bit. RT1250 is was a good touring bike. But then my K1600B and GSA1250 were aswell.
And i dont have a Hi Vis

Low rate finance deals incoming on the current models coming towards the end of the year maybe?

The more I see of the new models styling-wise, the more I hanker for an older R100RT or RS.
