Go In the garage or shed and start your GS 100/PDs and run It up for 3 to 5 minutes and see If the exhaust headers glow red on the left side, or maybe both ?
Cheers.

P.S. leave the door open a bit so you don't die.:D

oh and leave the lights off during the test.

And then take pictures ???????

and post on here !!!!!

I know one side on mine glows red, used to worry that there was something wrong but it's been like it for years:beerjug:

I once made the mistake of running my 1150ADV in the garage. . . You should see that glow in the dark .

I was so worried I called BMW :blast.

I haven't tried it with the 100GS and I'm afraid its currently locked in a container, sheeted over and surrounded by furniture - so I can't go and try it.

Bob.

Good Idea! Yeah post pic as well:D

And hurry up my tea's nearly ready.

If I'm paranoid about mine I want everyone else In It with me:beerjug:

Think of It as a really useful fact finding scientific test of percentages.

I once had to borrow a friends suzuki GS850, it came with strict instructions for starting it in the morning. Full choke, no throttle and let it run while stationary on full choke for about a minute.
My problem is my short attention span, now what was I talking about, oh yes, leave it run for a minute. This turned into maybe 5, 6 or 7.....:blast. When I went back out the four downpipes looked like they were molten, it scared the crap out of me:eek:, so I won't be doing that with my beloved GS this evening.
Look forward to hearing how everyone else gets on with this experiment.:popcorn

was still an exceedingly good fag lighter, by fag i mean cigaratte just to clear that up,lol..

I've given up on the darkness test due to lack of suitable, and like minded testers.:)
I reset the valves, they're fine. Compression on bost sides Is the same, even If my shit gauge gives high readings. The engines sounds lovely, so I will run the bike to my pals at some point, he's got a temp gun so I can test both sides when I arrive see how hot they get.
