Being a new rider can anyone tell me if there is a significant difference when you buy a used bike like there is with convertibles and other second cards?

I.e. Will I be best waiting until spring pick one up since this is when I'll start getting most use or best to buy now as the saving sill be significant?

Cheers

Hi,

There isn't much of a seasonal drop to be honest. You might get a good deal from a dealer at the moment on a new bike as sales drop off for the winter and you might also get a deal on a used bike that they've had in for a couple of months. Like wise, if you wait until the Spring you might get a good used bike as the owner could be changing to a new bike etc.

Privately, it might be worth looking around now as some people have finished with their bikes for the summer and might be looking for the Spring and don't want to look after it during the winter - this doesn't really stand true for GS owners though!!

It's worth keeping your eye out though. I know my local dealer, CW Motorcycles, have quite a few used GS's in at the moment, one is only a few months old with 600 miles on the clock, complete with everything and is £2000 less than list. The former owner didn't like it and traded it in for a GSA.

Cheers

Have a look on ebay between christmas & the new year when people are skint, You should get a good buy then, Or if it snows people dont want to travel to collect things. also a good time to bid on things is if it falls at a time of a big event. I was on ebay when the world cup final was on & got a couple of good deals. The next big ish thing will be the X factor final (sad but true)
