Only had my GSA 3 weeks and just purchased some new Alpine Star Teck 7 boots.

There great, a bit stiff and need wearing in.. but ive just been for a quick ride to the post office and I cant get my toe under to change dam gear now :toungincheek

Can any one recommend where I could get a longer Gear Lever from ?

Thanks

Why dont you just remove the gear lever and move it round one or two splines, that's what i did to mine and it worked great for me.

Just ordered a (+10) Hammerhead with the rubber boot. Rotating the OEM helped. But, I needed more room between toe and shifter when standing to avoid accidental shifts.

I checked these out and e-mailed them and the +10 is the dimension on the toe lever - the main lever is no longer than stock.

The Touratech one from Nippy Norman has a lot of adjustment and works well. The Wunderich lever when fully extended isn't that much longer than the standard lever.

Im going to try that tomorrow, the boots are rock solid and have zero movement in the toe at all, its a totally different experience so ill see how I get on.

Cheers for all the replies so far.

i cut mine in half, added an inch an welded it back up,
any decent welder could do it,
get a spare second hand lever and send me it and ill do it for you,
just sand it down an spray it,

I've got the TT one. I've size 12 Sidi Crossfires and had to extend the lever by two holes, I also dropped it on the splines a little. Works for me. The only slight downside is that if you use any other boots (I also have a pair of Daytona road boots) you'll need to move your foot around a little more.

That's what I did, although I did have to buy a bag of mud to smear on the boots, for authenticity.

Might I ask, when you buy clothes, do you buy them to look shit in, or because you like the way they look? You own jeans? You ever rounded up a herd?

posssible solution

Eat lots of sugar.
Don't exercise.
Develop Diabetes.
After a while you will lose your toes.
With the new boots, you won't need a longer gearlever!
Myke.

Cheers for the advice :comfort

I didn't buy them as a fashion accessory, I brought them because they are an extremely solid hard wearing sturdy boot... the one thing ive learnt from experience is your hands n feet are your life and im going to protect them at all costs, so i couldn't care less if i look a fashion victim everyone has to buy something new now and then... I know there adequate protection if i ever had to jump off.

I moved the standard lever 3 notches up, works a treat now changing up... Still not as fluid as I would like it to be like changing down, I think im going to look at getting a longer lever eventually...see how it goes for a few weeks.

Cheers
