Where to go in Southern UK ??

Last thing I want is to loose the 2 females on a shopping spree :P Need to avoid it since it'll be the beginning of the trip.

Now on the other hand, the bike shop is much more interesting... are they opened on Sunday ??? (that's when we're in Eastbourne).

Steve is open Sunday. If you're going to be there perhaps we can get a GS contingent to visit (and really p1ss off the women
:D )

Cheers

Dick

Sounds good to me Dick. (Sounds good to me ears too.) :D

You can count me in.

What sort of time were you looking at getting there Mike?

Perhaps the rest of The Eynsford Posse might join in too.

Lol

It'll have to be in the morning, the ferry leaves at 14:00 or so. I was planning to take it easy on Sunday morning, see the 7 sisters and just very slowly make our way to New Haven. So instead we can meet up.

Guess a civilised time of 05:45 in the morning should do..... well, make that 10:00 ????

10:00 Sunday 23rd May - Wessons Cafe.

Sounds good. I'll put a post on the "south east" forum.

Mike

Here's a route for you to have a look at - Newhaven to Portsmouth for your first afternoon. It's been produced using v6 of CN - not sure which version you have. Give it a try and see if it loads OK.
Cheers,
Paul

Doh !!

Just after I posted the reply I knew there was something happening that weekend.

I thought it might be doing something with the wife that I could wriggle out of, but she didn't know of anything.

And then I twigged at about 2 o'clock this afternoon it was to be my first possible camping trip with, and prospecting for, a load of hairy arsed GSer's.

I am sorry Mike and Dick but I am afraid that I will have to give the Wessons meeting a miss this time. I was so looking forward to trying out my french again after the last fiasco.

I hope that you and your group have a really good time over here Mike.

Again sorry

Thanks Paul,
I'll have a look at it when I'm back to civilisation on Monday (ie when I have a DSL line).

Circuitous, roundabout, but kinda interesting ramble across southern England - Salisbury to Eastbourne. See what you think...

Thanks mate. Both files are readable (long live technology!).

I'm combining your routes into mine (there were a few overlaps). I'm in fact turning the 2 routes around, the first day closer to the coast, and then for the rest more north. I see lots of twisties... the pillion passenger better go easy on the full English breakfasts..:beerjug:

Thanks all for your help for this trip. It was memorable (despite a few hours rain and a lot of cars..). Due to a Garmin error we didn't manage to see a lot of the routes.... bummer !!

Dick and Ian, thanks for meeting us and bringing us to the ferry !! Was nice meeting you two !

Sorry Mike...

All set for a sunny Sunday ride over to Wessons and ... domestic crisis of the teenage daughter kind.
Bugger!
Sorry mate - come back and see us again (or we'll all come and camp in your front garden...). :D

Camp ??? You should see the house now.... 3 spare bedrooms, 2 more being built (and a pool)...
