I'm thinking of changing my standard screen for a aftermarket (taller) screen, any of you guys have any recommendations or photos of how yours looks ?

MRA Vario does it for me... and it's adjustable too....

Have you thought of 'Tobinating' the Original...?

Do these stop the noise or just reduce turbulence?

I've never tried the Tobinators, but from what I've read on here, they seem to work very well for 'most' folk....personally, I don't like the look, hence the MRA.

The screen reduces the Turbulence for me....resulting in less noise..

MRA Vario with Tobinators. The MRA reduced the buffetting, the addition of Tobinators - after a little tweaking - made the ride very comfortable. I leave the Tobinators in the same position and drop the top part of the screen in warm weather.

I noticed the screen looking terminally bug splattered and shabby the other day and considered replacing it. I put it through a normal cycle in the dishwasher (not the heat cycle :P) and it came out looking like new...

Ermax

Mine an Ermax 4" taller than stock, no problems with buffeting.

My MRA cost £95 from Motoworks. I've tried it with and without Tobinators and it is a big improvement over the standard screen.

I was in Balderstons on Friday getting a new front tyre and they had two GS's in the showroom, one with a Secdem and one with an Adv screen.

Personally I prefer the MRA :)

I have recently fitted a Cee Bailey screen to my GS 3" higher and 2" wider with the Adventure add ons, wind buffetting is reduced significantly from the standard screen. Unfortunately I have only done about 300 miles since fitting it so I can't give a long term report.

Another vote for MRA with tobinators, and I can ride at 45-50 with the visor up. (6'2'' tall)
:beerjug:

Well I can ride at 60+ with the visor up, in fact the main problem I have is the lack of air flow over the visor when its raining, the rain just sits there.

Thought the Wunderlich screen was good (bought and sold on this forum) until I tried the MRA Vario. Top class piece of kit.

OK Guys (and ladeeeeeze)

read all the stuff posted here and like the look (and the price) of the MRA screen. BUT, how does it compare to an adventure screen with Tobinators. Better? Worse?. What do you reckon. I've got the standard screen with tobinators at the moment, but want a change.

Post replies!!

No question, MRA Vario screen :D I'm 6'2", and I have it on the middle seeting, lowest position, EXCELLENT!

I've got an 1150 adventure, with tobinators, does the MRA fit that? from all the stuff I've seen so far it just seems to fit the standard GS.

Your Tobinators effectively convert your Adv's fittings to those of a standard GS. The short answer is that an MRA screen will fit straight on to them.

The issue of buffetting/noise is one that isn't just determined by the height of the screen, but also by the height of the rider. I am 186cm/6'2", and still get (some) buffetting with my Wunderlich screen on the 1150GS. On my old R850 I had a little extra thingy that screwed onto the touring screen, which took out most of this, but for some reason doesn't work on the Wunderlich screen:mad: .
