Find I am getting a bad back on long trips. Thinking of trying some bar risers, anyone else tried these to cure a sore back? did it work? Which bar risers? Any experiences shared would be good, ta.

Same story here - bad back simply after a couple of hours on test ride so had mine fitted to the bike before delivery. I would suggest any risers that lift 'up' and 'back' - there are a few on the market. I bought mine via ebay from Creative Cycle Concepts in the US (made by Moto-techniques) - linky. They took a while to arrive and then got hit for the customs duty on my credit card some months later BUT - they really do the job! No more back issues since.

Also - how tall are you? Dropping the footpegs can considerably reduce stess on the lower back for the taller rider. I did this too using a Wunderlich (I think) peg-lowering kit from Nippy Normans - also very good but it does limit your lean angle a bit, I keep forgetting and touching the right-hand side one down. Never happened on the left strangely enough!

Thanks for the replies, I will look at both these and good to know it the risers work. I am 6" 0" tall but my legs are not too long! Don't think I need to do anything with the pegs so will try the risers first.

Bar Risers

I have a set to fit '05 to '09 1200RT if anyone wants them. I prefered the riding position with these fitted.
