I suspect the battery on my GSA is on it's last legs, so will need replacing sometime soon.

Which battery should I replace it with, a genuine BMW, a Hawker (as sold by TT) or are there better ones.

Also what can I expect it to cost.

After alot of phoning and checking around, these guys were the cheapest and had them in stock. They also supply FOC a right angle terminal bracket. Just say that you are putting it on a BMW.

I changed over to the Odessy pc680. :thumb

Had the same problem and after looking at around decided to go for a BMW Gel-filled maintenance free model. Not cheap at £90 but comes with a year's guarentee. My experience of maintenance-free batteries is that both a friend's Honda Blackbird and my CBR600 had them fitted as standard and were still going strong 8 years later. Might not last that long in the GS.

Hawker Odessy pc680mj should work out less than £70 and has 2 year guarentee.

Looks like finglonga's cracked it. Off to nick £20 out of the kids' piggy banks to replace the ones I've lost.

Oops my mistake!

According to the owners manual its not 2years it is in fact 3years.

Its only 2 if used in "powersports application" and 3 for "automotive/commercial/industrial" use. :thumb

Does the Hawker battery fit straight in or do I need adapter's etc.

:)

You can buy adapters but it is only a couple of right angle bits of brass with holes in. I made my own. ;)

They are like these...
