Hi Guys, GSXR 1000 has now gone up for sale and don't think it will take long too sell. The dilemma now is which GS to buy? Some say 1150 and some say 1200? what I would like is some opinions on which model and why! I originally had my heart set on a 2005GS for £4995 but on more detailed search can find 2007-2009 GS's for upto £7000.(that's my top budget). Not really looked into the 1150 but going too see what is out there but my guess would be a few pound notes cheaper! So which model? I am open to anything, good or bad just need some good advice on which way to go! I know ultimately it is my decision but other peoples help and info is priceless, that's why I have joined here! Thanks in advance guy's hope to be on a beemer in the near future!

Steve

The S1000XR is what sir wants !

Plenty of folk will give you £7,000 for your S1000XR, I'm surprised you're prepared to let it go for that, don't you like it?

To the OP, it really depends on what you are looking for from your new bike. If you used all the performance of your Gixxer you'll find the 1150GS very slow in comparison although you'll probably love the mid range torque. The 1200 is a bit quicker and feels a bit lighter but doesn't have the running on rails, planted feel of the 1150. The early 1200's had quite a few issues most of which will probably have been sorted long ago. You'll find loads of info in the relevant sections of this forum. I stuck with the 1150 until the water cooled bike came out and intended to get one of those until I rode one. Then I bought a Yamaha Super Tenere. :D

Ha

Should have read it thoroughly

I was looking at around the same budget as you and had a shortlist of 2 bikes.

2012 VFR Crosstourer - Heavy bike when stationary, but really, really nice once moving. A very sophisticated feeling machine.

Triumph Tiger explorer - Lots of kit, responsive if rough engine, a rougher quicker bike than the Honda, and reliability worries put me off.

I ended up ordering a new GS TE. Should be landing later this month. Attractive PCP deal and warranty swung it for me.

If you can scrape an extra £999 you can buy minta then mint twin cam, fully loaded with everything (including 3 box vario's) the extras list is endless, low mile, fsh +just serviced, full system, hilltopped, fully ventureshield protected, Sargent seats, totally unmarked and its even fitted with a quickshifter. Nice.

I like the paint on the LC, looks Fab

I have a Daytona like that in my Garage too :) (For now).

You would probably soil yourself if you saw the state of my R1100S :)

Looks absolutely mint! as soon as I sell my GSXR if you still have it would really like to come see it! would be worth the stretch in budget!
