Whisky Cask (Part Deux)

That’s about what I would expect a bottle of this quality/age to go for.
I have to say that I’m slightly concerned that our investment in this cask along with the possible return that we/I could expect to achieve is being placed under threat by the proposed label.
some right ugly feckers going to be on that caricature!!!!!!

I wont be doing the caricatures until I get home next Thursday so make yer minds up if yous want this for a label

Best the label is sorted, and naming is that an issue?

There's only a couple of folk (Bhud and Andi) who have emailed me a pic. Could the others do so asap.

Im assuming that the delay has been caused by them trying to find one that they dont like like a fuckin retard in...

Sorry, you'll have to settle for my Uncle Fester pic.

That was the best one..... :eek

All the ones I have have been pasted to Ronnie, he is looking at it but has concerns on space. So jury is out on the label.

Been tae that wee part of gods country before. Awesome wee place with a fit barmaid by the name of Samantha in local pub called the lochindall. Campsite is good with nice grub from The lovely Fiona and the distillery is awesome too. Dont forget a wee trip to Jura Scotlands last wilderness. Islay rocks. :thumb

FYI
As a gaelic speaker (albeit not a very good one) your translation has a fundimental flaw.

Your label should read Baisceall Dubh and not Dubh Baisceall.

Is your Gaelic better than your English? :D

Anyhoo, given that most of the folk who will be drinking the stuff have fundamental flaws themselves, a typo seems quite appropriate to me :beerjug:

I can see why you might think that but in truth we've had a design hitch and the labels are still on the drawing board.

In view of Benside's revelation, maybe Bhud and co should have a wee vote on whether we should alter the name or not?

I say go with the original

To throw in my tuppence worth, I don't think you should go with the original for the following reason. Dubh in gaelic (literal translation black) is quite often used as a word to infer something is bad or malevolant. For example the whisky Poit Dubh, the literal translation is black pot but when the words are used in the context refering to whisky the actual translation would be 'illicit still'.
As such 'Baisceall Dubh' would be more suited to your 'Black Loonies', as in the 'Black' is not a literal description (unless that is you guys are actually all black).
Whereas Dubh Baisceall doesn't make sense to any gaelic speaker, it is just two words thrown together ie madman/loony black

Cheers for the heads up. Label isn't finished yet so what you say makes sense.

I'll go with the majority decision but now vote for Baisceall Dubh. :beerjug:
