Who has the highest mileage F800?

Micky - I had to post in here 65,000 miles on a bike!!! Wow didn't know that was possible. Good on you mate, have you needed a new engine yet?

My F800GS has 7240 miles :) Hardly any comparison lol

Not a particularly good showing I'm afraid, it's taken me just over three years to get that mileage on :nenau

Managed 83,500 miles in three years on my R1150GS, I guess I must be slowing down a bit eh ;)

Just fitted chain and sprockets to mine, re-greased the swing arm bearings and now 'starting the year' at 65,785 miles :thumb

Micky is that the first time you've changed your chain and sprockets ?

No Steve ... fitted a couple of the heavy duty DID's (with OE sprockets) ... they'll do me about 30,000 miles apiece ;)

My f650gs (58) is on 45k and I had a rear tyre pressure light come on. I broke the valve and had to be recovered!!! They took it to BMW dealer in Birmingham and they have a couple of recalls to do! Chain sprocket and a disc bolt! I was thinking I am lucky they picked that up!

Morning Men!, just to report my F800 has nearly 27k on the clock, had to get the stator replaced a few hundred miles ago but not to much of a pain!
Oh anf my mate had a 97' CBR 600 with 130,000 miles on the clock!

Must try harder ;) My 1150GS had 110,000 miles on it when I sold it and there is a chap in That America with >400,000 miles on his GS.

I must be hard on tyres as that is my average milage
Phew, hopefully I won't be seeing that sort of mileage from them then :)

Tourance are the best tyres in my opinion for the F800GS but not recomended by BMW.

I wonder why not - and is that Tourance or Tourance EXP (or both) which I've heard are much less hard wearing than the original Tourances?

I suppose it depends on the road surfaces you ride on and how you use the throttle.

Yeah. Mind you, roads in the south of England resemble I've in Eastern Europe these days ;-)

How many years did that take?
Good point, the last 50,000 miles took 3 years to add, the previous mileage took longer. Nevertheless, my point wasn't aimed at him, more that it isn't unusual to see a bike with that many miles on it once you get out of the sports bike 2k a year arena.

If the guy tries any harder, he'll never be at home!
I know, it's incredibly impressive. Wish I had the time to do that sort of mileage! It is one of the things that persuaded me the F800GS would be a good buy. Any bike I buy, I expect to do or get close to 100,000 miles - and his incident free high mileage helped me choose an F over a boxer. Given the recalls there have been, this was something I thought about quite a lot. Essentially my choices ended up being an R1200GS or the F800. I know the 1200 engine will do the miles, I wasn't sure the 800 could...

Is the F800 really bombproof? Some would have us believe it.. I want to believe it! I would be interested to hear about any F800's that have covered really serious miles and how they have stood up to the challenge, either with or without expensive repairs!? Hopefully the latter. :mmmm

I am just at 61,000 Miles. Still runs great. It is a 2009 year, so had all the recalls done. going to change out the chain tomorrow. The big replacement cost was the Stator. It went at 55.000 miles.
