Who has the highest mileage F800?

Micky are you still on the original cam chain and tensioners?

Yup ... original clutch too. Never needed the valve clearances adjusting, all halfway between max and min tolerance, all exhaust the same, all inlet too :thumb
:beerjug:

How long in general does the clutch last?
Marjie

Until it wears out, same with any vehicle (unless an oil seal fails and that's Russian roulette)

A crap rider or driver could ruin a clutch in 1000 miles, whilst others could see 200,000 miles on a clutch

How long is a piece of string??

That's fantastic mileage and reliability Micky - must be great to have a bike with so many good memories attached to it :beerjug:

So do the collective of 800 owners reckon the ones built now are as well made and reliable?

In the case of a Boxer, either the gearbox or crank seal, but on the F800's it's a wet clutch anyway................so I was generalising

Thanks for spotting my error in this section:D

What are the miles now Micky?

125,000 miles :D

Might have had to sell it because it was too heavy to pull on to the centre stand, my new metal knees didn't like it

Fitted the later model 'straight' centre stand in place of the original curved one, much easier to operate :thumb

X-ray and final check up with my Consultant and all is well with the knees :D

2017 and 200,000 miles looking good to go :D:D

Photo taken last Sunday after I had cleaned and polished it ...

The day I broke it out of its crate (March 2008) ...
