On a daily basis I am getting emails with an address starting "Info At " then a load of crap like this

$BB(F|?6$j9~$_7hDj(B

About a page worth. Each time i add to blocked senders list on outlook express the address of the sender changes slightly...

eg.... Info at fgtk.com... info at jgsu.com

Getting a bit tired of it, and any suggestions would be gratefully received..

Someone else's computer(s) is infected with a virus. This is causing the computer to send out lots of mails to other people in their address book with a virus attached to the mail. Whatever you do don't open any attachment.

Thanks Mike.. that makes sense.... Just a thought , I've just emailed all my contacts (only about 15 on my mailing list) but I think it could also be anyone who's contacted me for a grille etc. this makes it a bit difficult to get rid of?

Is there anything i can do to stop them coming? Norton doesnt seem to do anything, although im not sure it should....

A couple of things spring to mind. If you are getting garbled text but no actual attachment then either your ISP or Norton is doing its job by taking out the offending virus attachment. If there is an attachment then you need to configure Norton to work with your mail program. It may stop eventually as the virus is discovered on the offending PC.

And you are right that it could be someone who has contacted you in the past. Anyone....

It is all garbled except for each one has a couple of web addresses within the garbled text.. each one different..

as if to say.. click me,click me.. ;)

If it's your own domain name, ask the domain host if will they allow you to point info@yourdomain to a different e-mail address.

I had the same problem so I pointed info@mydomain to a hotmail address that filters most of the spam. Everythingelse@mydomain goes straight to my pop3 outlook express account. The problem went away overnight. Just make sure you log into the hotmail account every few days to check for e-mails you did want.

If you havent got your own domain, the easiest way is to change your e-mail address and notify all your contacts. This kind of spam usually comes from an e-mail list that someone has recorded your address on, usually from something you've subsribed to. It wont ever go away unfortunately.
