Never understood the need for a heated seat on a motorcycle. If it's really cold wear the liner in your trousers.
I have worn a heated body warmer in the winter as that takes the edge off the sub-zero windchill on longer rides.

I have cut this from a parallel thread about hotels, not least as it might interest some and stimulate some healthy debate.

I have worn a heated body warmer…

If, like me, your first act is to take the liners out of motorcycle clothing (and never put the liners back) then that’s not an option.

Like you, I have a heated jacket / body warmer. For my lower regions, electric trouser liners….. oh, and a heated seat on my 1600. It comes ‘free’ as does the surplus of electrical power.

I’m guessing you’ve never tried a heated seat ?

Once you’ve tried one you’ll be hooked . And cooked 😳😂

Never really used mine - cold fingers and toes can be a problem, but not my core - a decent down jacket under the textiles does the trick.

Also, the Cool Covers seem to render it a bit pointless. Don't want to remove them as they're good in the rain.

Once you have it, you wouldn't want to not have it.
I thought they were for pussies, until I bought a bike with it.
Great bit of comfort that helps to keep your core warm in the cold weather.

Still works with the cool cover. I use one just to ensure rain doesn't pool round my nuts.

I had a heated seat and a cool cover on my Triumph Tiger. Whilst not quite as effective the cool cover didn’t seem to make much difference.

SNAP!
I was sat in lane 2 on an Italian motorway, stationary because of an incident ahead, and watching black rain clouds sweep towards us. Unable to get off and put waterproofs on I was a sitting target for the downpour that occurred within seconds,
I sat there getting drenched and became uncomfortably aware that the puddle under my ass was getting deeper and my nuts getting colder.
On the basis that, if you don’t tell people how much something’s hurting they’ll never know how brave you’re being, I informed my patient passenger
“I’ve got cold, soggy, nuts!”
Bless her.. she quickly responded “Put your heated seat on, then you’ll be sat in warm water”

It worked! Lord, I love my wife :giggle:

That's why you need a cool cover as well. By the cheap one from AliExpress

I had one fitted, and my heated Sargent seat was still pretty effective. I think without one the water would have been up to my waist!
Man, we got wet.. the Klim Marrakesh is meant to be shower resistant but stood no chance that day.

Yeah, I got Dainese laminated goretex gear. It's never leaked but if it does, it would be round the balls with the water driven in by the wind.
To my thinking, the cool cover will stop me sitting in a puddle of water.

Was talking to a lad about the heated seats on his KTM 1290 Adventure (personally cannot see the point of a heated seat on a bike that fries your inner thighs ), anyway he was saying that the seat was on full tilt and would not turn off during a ride in 27 degree heat whilst on holiday and made life rather uncomfortable.
Asked him why he didn't just lift the seat and unplug it to which a light bulb appeared above his head and two huge donkeys lugs spouted from the side of his head .
Some people !!!!!

Don’t buy the cheap one from Ali express, it’s cheap for a reason. The genuine article is expensive but it is good, very good.
Could get more that you bargained for... just don't fart whilst it's in full on mode
