Why have a heated seat?

Interesting thread.
I've never had a heated seat on my GS's and I am now wondering if I should invest.
But I never had a heated seat in my cars before I got my XC70 a few years ago. I mean why would you need a heated seat in a car either. And then on a cold and frosty morning when going to conduct a funeral up here in the frozen north, the heated seat was sublime.
I've no need for a heated seat in the car in the summer but in the winter.... I guess it would be the same on the bike, and as I'm now at the stage where my derrière needs a break after a couple of hours, I'd like to try and see if it would help. I ride with a Keis jacket and gloves in the winter, and they work.
So, I know this is a slightly different thought from the OP, but what are the recommendations for a heated seat? BMW specific, which makes sense, but trying to find a 2013 hexhead 1200 GSA heated seat. isn't the easiest thing. Or, is the Oxford Heated Seat https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/2464236 of any substance. and ????
Or should I make it a separate thread?
