Since i posted my tale on the "I'm new here please be gentle" forum and had the "This ain't for real" response from "Engineer" i thought why doesn't he think it's for real. Surely we were not born Tossers (Don't answer that!!!!!) Surely we all have a tale to tell as to how we ended up with our respective GS's.

Go on share.

This is what "Engineer" thought wasn't real...i can assure you it is.

" My name is Raboomdea and i am a tosser

So after riding my Suzuki Van Van so long the option was take the test or re do a CBT i took the plunge and did my big bike...then i ran out arms in the air and threw money at a friend who was selling his SV650..I rode it....I hated it....i only used it when conditions were fantastic, i developed a phobia about right turns (Don't Ask) and mostly i sat chained to the wall of my house like a great big growth.

Then i went to India and rode Royal Enfield through the Himalayas.(And on occasion directly at them).....i came back and wanted one. It was short, it was steady, it would ride over any surface and i loved it (Its cause i hated the SV), However all that chrome would have just melted in the Scottish summer never mind winter. So i had a serious word with myself and fortunatly enough my friend who works with John Clarks BMW....

I want a big bike i said, not a fast bike but one which will take me happily were i want to go, thats low enough to accomodate my short arse'd ness (Oh and since my hands get cold easily - heated grips would be nice). Come with me he said, we have an open day and i have the very bike.!!!!

Test ride of a F650GS complete i again ran towards a sales man with my arms in the air and threw money (And the SV) at him .

So here i am a happy tosser (Are girls tossers or twirlers ??) Her name is Geraldine, she's short, red and keeps my hands warm....and i love her.

I have bought her many presents which are in the post and i will cuddle and farkle her with love. I will spend many hours with her and i fear my better half may get jealous.

I am if you had not guessed very happy to be here with you big bunch of tossers."

Welcome to the site :thumb

I believe you're real :D

Is it the 650 single or twin you're lavishing your love on? confusing aint it!

Take no notice.... how do we know engineer is an engineer? He could be one of those YTS louts, or a 3 weeks in night-school type washing machine mechanics.....:D

Timpo.

She's a wonderful 650 twin and i promise pics will be uploaded soon. I may do a wee spot of farkling first. Now tell me why GS's?

I is a proper Engineer innit so :-P

I believe your real to, but you sure have an unusual name, how about some pictures to convince those doubters :comfort

A quick dip into last month's MCS&L will reveal a picture which purports to be of Ms Raboomdea in the Himalayas but which, in fact, isn't her at all......:augie

However, the text is by her.....well a holographic projection of her, at least......:augie

And so it began. On my return from a fabby break in Donegal i had recieved a rather large package and you know how us girls love a large package. However on closer examination i was stunned to find that Hornig had employed a typical German sense of humour and recycled a Tena Lady Plus Size box just for me. B*****ds.

Anyway after an evening of consultation with Schtum and son i had new crashbars, handguards and nose cone. Unfortunatly the photos won't upload right now so you'll just have to wait for proof.

I dont care if its true or not keep up the posts and let the sceptics keep up thers very enterning JJH

And yet still no one else has explained why they bought a GS. jeez you don't all want to be Charley or Ewan do you. Crikey thats a bit embarressing!! Ok if you won't tell me why . Tell me who.

What have you named yours? (Your Bike you dirty minded imps) Is bike naming only for us girls (Assuming i'm not alone here - i hope).

My girl is called Geraldine. She's not dainty or prissy but likes to look her best. she likes to drink pints, tell smutty jokes and has a sense of adventure. She the sort of girl who'll discuss recipes with your mother but be able to discuss the off side rule with your dad. (Have i gone too far)

Discuss!!

ps Still can't get my blooming pics to upload..file size too big - advice?

Load them to photobucket it will resize them and then copy and paste the IMG link on to your post before submitting

Pictures need to be 640x480 to go straight on here...

Otherwise take a look at a picture hosting site such as photobucket... load on the pictures , then paste them over here.... takes a bit of practice but it will save you re sizing the ones you've already got:thumb

edit... Proff beat me to it... ps is your name Tara :D

Well, actually, a lady of your acquaintance bought me my first one at Christmas '04 and then she encouraged me to get my second one and now she's not complaining that I'm just about to pick up my new '09 one. Hmmm.....do I detect a downward trend here....

Send me the bloody things and I'll host them for you and give you the link and you can then post them wherever you like....:rob

Thanks Chaps. Surprised as to the lack of folk admitting to naming their bikes (Or am i?) and yes it is...
