Not strictly a comp problem but thought worth a post.
Have just updated from yeolde hard wire broadband to wire free setup, all ok and no problem up till today and could'nt get a signal! checked base station all live and lights on etc but no connection.
Traced to the fact I have a Phillips wirefree sound system, if each station is used on its own all ok but if one acceses the base station for stored stuff on its hard drive the signal seems to over power the broadband signal.
Have moved the broadband station up higher and away from any of the radio base stations but as soon as I turn on the music I loose the broad band signal

Any thought/sugestions?
Thanks.

Other than relocating not really. I found my corless phone did the same thing when sited too near the wireless base unit. Can you seperate them some more?

you could try different channels until you get a clear signal for each, but to be honest this is the trouble with wireless, it's a limited bandwidth and there's an increasing amount of stuff trying to use it.

dont forget what ever you do get working today, there's nothing to say, someone near you wont start another wireless network and mess it up tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply Dave. Have thought of putting the broadband unit in the loft (I have a bungalow) as have a power supply up there and easy put a phone extension in, just concerned about having it on all the time. Any one know if thats a problem?

Shouldn't be, they only use a small amount of power. But make sure there is enough ventilation for both the unit and its power supply, the integrated plug/power supplies do run quite hot.
