Got a set of pre-loved wilbers for the 12GS

By chance according to Revs Racing the spring is the right one for the both of us when loaded with camping gear etc.

They are nearly new.... the only thing that is puzzling me a bit is the settings to use on the preload on the rear....... mainly the difference between one up and two up......

Speaking generally when you're fully loaded would you crank the preload up to max or just a few clicks ? there seems to be no hard and fast recommendations like there are for the OEM stuff

Any advice or urine extraction appreciated :thumb2

Your preload clicks?

With my GSA, for 2 up I would add quite a bit of preload and a couple of clicks more on the rebound adjuster and that would work very well.

I would go for 7-8 turns on the preload wheel knob and two klicks for low damping two for high speed damping and two for rebound assuming weight. I weigh 90kg and the bike was loaded up with 50kgs of luggage.

Sit on the bike and adjust the preload until the feet to floor reach feels normal. You are unlikely to be scratching foot-pegs with 50kg of luggage so keep damping soft to cushion everything. If its too floaty move it up a couple of clicks.
