Will I never learn?

I've told you, I've got a '72/'73 R60/6 that needs TLC, take you all winter to sort it ....
I'm sure we can come to some arrangement ....
I've owned it since 1978//

Will yer bring it up to norf whales for me too:augie
PM me with price Please Sir.....Lyn.

Lyn,

I've an immaculate 1985 R80g/s with genuine 12,500 miles plus PD tank ( all in white/orange/blue) and the bike has 1000cc Seibenrock barrels/pistons fitted. Polished wheels with s/s spokes front and rear and runs on Mikuni carbs and has the 320mm large disc to help it stop. Orange single seat and long rack with a set of Verns panniers fitted. But I'd want at least £2,200 for it. Just been MOT'd with new Sahara tyres fitted.
Just kidding:D

Yer had me for just ONE moment then yer scouse git:D

Yeehaa!

Finally got some time to spend on the project bike.

Lots of clanging and banging this morning and then off to the MOT station where it passed :D

Just need to get the bike insured, inspected and a logbook issued before I take it all apart again and start on it properly :blast

What a pain in the arse? It'll be worth it in the end.

And Yes! I did put some grips on. And No! there's no passenger footpegs because it's a long single seat ;)

Nice one Rob :thumb2

I'm especially impressed it passed with no plugs :D

Just swapped the Paralever subframe for a Mono g/s one. The whole projects looking like it's down the route of being a 1000cc Basic clone. I'm still stuck in the registration nightmare waiting from a letter from the BMW club to prove year of manufacture so don't want to pull the whole thing apart until I get that sorted. I'm tempted to spend some cash and buy a new PD tank to turn it into a Kalahari replica.

I like the look of the mono sub frame but don't want to start chopping it up to get it to fit properly so the only options to buy a Basic sub frame. Not cheap. The Mono seats just a temporary one. It's been cut down and is in poor condition.

Still haven't had the age confirmation letter through from the BMW club DVLA chap, he's spat his dummy out because I dared to ask when it was coming through, he's now refusing to answer emails and drummed up a load of tosh about about being hassled...How the hell a friendly "any news on the certificate" email and a phone call constitutes hassle I'll never know. And the BMW club wonder why they're hemmoriging members :nenau I won't be renewing mine next year.

So...

Pulled the bike apart ready for it's proper rebuild. Engine in bits again to fit the pistons. Heads and barrels vapour blasted and ultrasonically cleaned. The valve seats and guides have seen better days so they're off to either Moorespeed or SED. I'm thinking of trying the Moorespeed one piece valves. Need to talk to Richie first though.

9.5:1 pistons.

And the BMW club wonder why they're haemorrhaging members :nenau I won't be renewing mine next year.

After attending two AGMs (never a good idea) and becoming thoroughly depressed whenever 'The Journal' arrived, I quit two years ago :D

Shame really, there are some dedicated people there.

Bob.

£350 pound lighter thanks to Motobins and the engines all but finished - just need the head work doing.

Just fitted a new crank sprocket, cam chain, big ends and bought all the other little bits and bobs to finish things off engine wise including the new rocker boxes.

Not bad for a 30 year old engine?

Gearbox is a 91 fitted with a circlip output shaft.

Got a brand new Basic subframe coming on Saturday (don't ask they aren't cheap) so I can get the frame, stand and parts all colour matched to suit it.

Hopefully Jaythro has sorted my frame dating certificate out so we'll be back on track  A house point for the Irish contingent :aidan

Nearly forgot.

Anybody found a perfect match for the Basic frame colour yet. I'd like to get it powder coated so could do with a colour match.

Hurry up Rob...my cheque book is quivering !!!

That'll be the day!! I've seen the size of your cheque book and it writes smaller cheques than most folks. :D

This ones for me Kenny. I'm going to build my ideal airhead, I may even convert it to a heavy flywheel  It's a full blown RS engine but the heavy flywheel would be nice.

The new subframes already in at Pidcocks :clap ordered it yesterday and it arrived from Germany first thing this morning.
