Can I ask the price for new valves and guides? I'm thinking of getting mine done soon. No obvious problems at the moment, but the bike has over 60 k on and I've read about exhaust valve/guide wear.
Look what turned up today
Moorespeed one piece valves (44mm inlet. 40mm Exhaust), Colsibro (age-hardened copper nickel silicon alloy) valve guides and new lead free valve seats -![]()

The whole lot, including VAT and postage, came to £426. My heads are from an early 80's RS so I had new unleaded valve seats fitted at the same time. All the prices are on Moorespeeds site http://www.moorespeed.co.uk/bmw-engine
Standard valve springs are ok unless your revving to silly speeds on a full race engine.
Turn around was just over a week but appears to depend on the workload.
And I've got a BP7HS (and a BP6HS) if you fancy? They're both standard fitments on a 650 Ural
(how sad is that - knowing my sparkplug rating without having to look it up?)
Up at 6am this morning for a bit of early morning fettling and we now have a runnerengine sounds really sweet, fired straight up with no hesitation. Just need to balance the carbs and I can take it for a run around the block.
