Will not pull till warm

My 12 is 4 years old and has 57k km on the clock. Its been serviced by BMW while under warranty. For the last 30k she has had regular oil changes, but has not been on a BMW diagnostic puter...

The problem is that she wont pull after starting from cold until there is at least 3 bars up on the temp meter, meaning about 5 minutes ticking over before pulling away first time in the morning or when cold, she will not idle when cold after the throttle has been touched. If I fire up and dont touch the throtle she idles ok.

thoughts? am I going to have to pay my rip off BMW garriage to put her on their puter?

Its probably just a sensor but yes the quickest way to find out what is wrong is to plug it in either dealer or find someone with a GS 911. You could buy a GS 911 as well so you will always know what is going on.

Thanks Marki, I have thought about a 911, but they are not available here, so I'll wait for my nextrip to blighty. But in any case I guess even if I knew the fault, it would still need them to make adjustment or up-date mapping. So BuMW still get my cash...
