Two years back I decided to 'invest' in a Rukka jacket and trousers. So far my experience has been that in terms of waterproofing it is without fault but on a long run in low temperatures I find myself getting a bit colder than I would like. Even with the winter lining, a couple of layers of clothing and thermals on underneath it seems that the wind is getting through and slowly leeching all the warmth away so that after a couple of hours I really need to stop and warm up.
From reading threads elsewhere on here it seems this is not an unknown experience with Rukka gear (which is annoying considering how much it costs). As I plan to keep riding during the winter I need to come up with a solution to this that does not involve buying another jacket. Of course I could just wear a slightly more windproof jacket under the Rukka but that just adds to the hassle of getting the gear on and off and it would be nice if there was a better option. Maybe there is alternatives to thermals that also offer protection against wind chill?
So, are there any other Rukka owners out there who have come up with clever ways to deal with this? Or can anyone make any suggestions?
