Windows 8.1 Any better ?

It adds a few bells and whistles over 8.

If you are a rapid hater of 8 and yearn for the 7 experience, I suspect it isn't going to help you much.

As it was a free upgrade, then 8.1 has to be better.

It is better... you can split some of the things that stayed full screen.. and is more stable..

for tablet use it's a big improvement. Not sure it will make that much of a difference on the PC/laptop platform.

I've got to say that since I installed Classic shell I really like window 8. I put 8.1 on my desktop pc last week and it seems fine. I haven't had any reliability issues with windows 8 or 8.1.

Why Microsoft got it so wrong with the UI interface is beyond me. Now mine just runs like windows xp or 7 with all the windows 8 crap turned off.

The reason they got is so wrong was that they were trying to shoehorn one operating system into two fundamentally different form factors (PC/laptops and tablets).
