If I buy a USB2.0 PCI card and install it will Windows 98SE run it at 2.0

Everyone at work and at homekeeps telling me to get XP. But my experience of developing 8 hours a day on XP software and the horror stories my friends and family have of XP crashing, failing, etc I am content to plod along home with trusty old 98. Does everything I need so far.

Ok, OK - I get the message. Perhaps I'll put an upgrade on my birthday list.

I've forgotton the point at which it occurs, but there is a point in the PCI evolution where you'll find the card has been developed to a more recent PCI standard than the motherboard will support. Thus, if you have an old pc to go with the old release on W98, it may not be the OS that stops it working.
Time to consider hardware and software replacement...
