Has anyone sent off off for Vista yet, I sent off for a beta version from Microsoft on the 9th of June and have yet to receive it.

Just download it, updated version is now out I believe.[/QUOTE

Is the downloaded version a standalone file I can burn to disc, the reason I sent off for the discs is I want to install it on a seperate h/drive, because as I understand it if I just upgrade XP I can't rollback should I balls it up.

I think the beta stops working after 14 days, the early version did

Roll Back

Vista WILL allow you to rollback the upgrade. Did it myself. :bounce1

Just finished the second installation, the first crashed completely.

I've installed it on a seperate 300gig h/drive and kept my old XP setup untouched on the other drive so I can swop if it crashes again.

I do like the look of Vista the graphics appear a lot crisper, I'm not so happy with installing hardware or the Widows Mail which is a mongrel version of Outlook and Outlook express, IE 7 is pretty good it gives firefox a run for the money, but it's too early to say if it's an improvement.

You don't need Vista yet - it requires a lot of hardware and resources.

If you want to change the look and feel of XP sp2 to look and operate how Vista does - then this XP theme is the one generally accepted as being the best.

I've been using it for 4 months now - no worries. :thumb

Thanks Moto, your right I don't need it especially as I had to do a 4th full installation after another crash.

But having installed for the 4th time I'm getting accustomed to it and it has got some nice little features, I've got 3 time zones now and when checking I see it's 21.52 where you are. I paid about £12 for the DVD and it it's valid 'till June next year when I suppose I might shell out for the home pc version.

No doubt I'll use your links when it crashes again and I put the old H/D back in. Thanks
