Probably been mentioned a few times on this already but having searched can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

About to connect a set of Hella FF50 driving lights (which I want to use as running lights) to the dipped headlight and switched independently through a standard on/off switch mounted on the handlebar (orange/green wires - the same one as the type sold by Les Wassell). Obviously routed through a relay etc but want to know the best way of doin it?

Have a Centec fuse block fitted and want to know how to go about this i.e.
what wires do you tap into on a 2009 GSA. Anyone done this or any experience in this (sketches would be helpful etc)???

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm a numpty when it comes to this!!

:confused::confused::confused:

Tap into the side light bulb as the relay power switch supply, with the handle bar switch in line, main power from the battery via an in line fuse, and earth and then relay feed to the lights, lights can be controlled soon as the ignition is on.
FF50 as drive lights are fine if you use the FF50 Fog and not he spot (far light) bit to pencil beam, you would have to point them down on the ground.

Slightly different setup but this should give you an idea. I used a Fuzeblock which has a relay built in that will turn the unit off after 30 seconds. Didn't want to mess with the factory wiring so I used the power coming off the Zumo lead for my sat nav as switched power. I found it easier to bring everything back to the tool tray including the ground and not use the crimps in the kit which are crap IMHO. I put the relay underneath the tank with some duralock velcro (more expensive than gold). Hope that helps.

Thanks guys a lot clearer now - feel confident in tackling the job now.

Many thanks.

With a centech panel its easy peasy.

Les is right about the side light but you could also tap into the yellow wire on either your dipped or main beam as appropriate, the yellow wire is inside the circular seal at the back (advantage is it keeps your wire tap inside the headlight unit + dry). You can use the drain pipe as a route in to your headlight unit. Its the L-shaped bit on the far left (hi-beam) and middle lower (dipped). I have one in each (FF50 fogs to dipped + trigger for centech and FF50 driving lights to main).
