I just found an '98 1100 gs ('97 mfg date) with 52000 km for 3800 EUR apparently in good condition but don't have ABS.
The ABS is a must for this bike or not? It is worth the money or I must seek one with ABS?
thanks for the opinions!

I thought that they all had Abs, it would'nt bother me if it was without, I have a 1150gs without and its been great, I also have a 1100rt with Abs and its ok to, never had the Abs cut in on that bike, I personally would buy, if the condition is right, but only you can decide, some will say all bikes are dangerous without Abs, but we managed without them in the past :augie

I spent 25000 miles on my 1150 without ABS I now have a 1200 with. Doesn't make any difference till you need it!
If like me you have ridden for years without abs then buy the bike. If you aint got it it can't go wrong. :thumb2

+1 The cost to repair would possibly be higher than the value of the bike.

My 1150 has ABS and I've had no problems in 40,000 miles (~65,000Km). I don't think I would specify it on another bike though.

the main reaon I bought my 05 1150 was because it didn't have ABS.

Everyone I know with an ABS equiped K has junked it - if nothing else, its 4kg of weight saved.
