Hi all,

I recently bought a '08 1200 GSA in the Netherlands, the bike was imported from the UK and got it's annual services at Wollaston up to 20k miles. (now at 22.500 miles last service at Wollaston in november/december 2012)

Does anybody know how to contact Wollaston via e-mail?
(Calling them might get a bit costly)

I'd like to know a bit more about this bike, by the looks of it it had some farkles on it and I'd like to know how it was handled.

Maybe one of you guys was the previous owner;
Red '08 1200 GSA with ABS/ASC/ESA/RDC, Touratech stickers on the front forks, around 20k miles on the odo, fitted with Anakee 2

Thanks! :beerjug:

Hi Jedi,
I'm working about 200M up the road from Wollaston tomorrow.
I will pop in and get their contact details for you

That might be my old bike.Is it red? I know it went to Holland towards the end of Feb. did it have brand new aux lights on it, I took my old ones off because they were converted to HID. I can't think of any other identifying features though.

Ignore my question about colour!! Doh !!

Yes it's a red one.
Last serviced at 20/11/2012?
The aux lights do look brand new yes.

There are SIDI stickers on both plastic side panels and Touratech front fork 'protection' stickers.

Any info I can help you with, you're more than welcome.

Cheers

Haha, what are the odds of finding the owner on this forum :D
Thanks for identifying!

Bought the bike five weeks ago and done around 1300 miles since then.
It's an incredible bike, much snappier and 'lighter' than my previous '00 1150GS.
Already washed it twice :P (almost more times than I'd washed my 1150 it's entire stay)

What I'd like to have are the service records (if you still have them and want to share them), that's why I was searching for Wollastons e-mail adres. (never thought of ever finding the previous owner)

I´m no subscriber here so I can't be PM'ed. E-mail me at michael @ leomarders.nl

Yeah the bike certainly goes well, I had a remus end can and decat headers on it which really improved the low down response. It should also still have the piper cross performance air filter in it as well, don't let them change it on the service, it might just need a quick clean.
I don't have any of the service records, they went with the bike I'm afraid. All I can tell you is it had full BMW service history and the last service it had was the 24000 mile service. My main contact at Wollaston was Matthew Cory, the guy in service was Richard, but can't remember his surname.
I loved that bike, I never had any problems with it at all and had some fantastic trips on it.

If you phone them now you likely to speak to Jack at service. Matthew is the main man at the sales department.

The ECU is self adjusting but can only cope with two of the three - (1) decat headers. (2) muffler. (3) free flow filter.

A remap makes sense to get full benefit from the mods, but is really needed if running all three.

Thanks for the info Bendy toy, I ran the bike like that for 3 years with no problems at all, it didn't miss a beat. But I will bear in mind for the future on my new bike. :thumby:

Thanks for the info Steve.

Haven't checked the airfilter yet so don't know if it is still in there.

There are some scratchmarks on the nose, instrumentcluster and silver bar behind it. Did it have a headlightprotector and do you know what caused the scratched instrumentcluster and silverbar?
Also the front enginecover has been repainted, did you do that yourself?

Bike is still running fine, bit shakey at 4000-5000rpm but they all do that, or so I've heard. (Maybe someday I'll make a trip to Hilltop for a remap)
Fuel strip went out last week though :D (got it working again with the shock treatment)

Have you got any pictures with all the farkles you had?

The scratch on the nose is where I rode through an electric fence on Salisbury Plain :blast. There was no damage to the instrument cluster, I should think the silver bar was scratched when BMW removed my Nav 4 to put on my new bike. As for the engine cover, there was some corrosion on it but I didn't and wouldn't of attempted to paint it myself, think that would of ended badly !!!
I have some pictures somewhere, I will post over the next couple of days.

Ouch, that must have hurt!
I think the guy that imported the bike might have damaged it then (when installing the kmph spedometer plate)
He (or your dealer) did paint the engine, looks nice. Almost new (won't not last that long though)
Would love to see the pictures! :)
