   That looks bloody awful !
I thought these problems were a thing of the past ...

Curious to see what it'll look like afterwards - good luck !

Mine was pretty much as bad. Be careful when refitting as getting the oil seal over the crankshaft is tricky

Mine looks like that and its a 2004 model, luckily I cannot see it when riding but I keep promising myself I'll flash over it with some silver hammerite :augie

No lots of people try and ignore the corrosion untill it is too late

Not quite so, they replace the engine covers if the bike is still under warranty and if you kick up a big enough fuss out of warranty you may get some joy from them as well ;-) (not once it's gone that far I'll bet though!)

This might help...

...it'll be interesting to see how well yours comes up YellowGS

i did spend time discussing the issue with bmw and i am informed that this is rare. if i was of a mind i might ask how many people have had a problem like this but that might be considered a poll so i will not ask the question for me thinks the answer might be me , and me followed by get an 1150 no problems there.:blagblah

Think I will do mine this summer as it will only get worse next winter. My dilemma is should I do the rocker covers at the same time as they are showing similar bubbles. Although I have to say not as bad as those pictures! Those are a real horror show. :tears

No need for a poll, it is a very common and well recognised problem.

Gonna be doing mine this summer.

Wouldnt be yours looking forlorn in Scrimingers by any chance?:nenau

thank you for that if it turns out to be a more robust finish than the bmw one i would suggest you inform them of your process so that they can improve the mark with your input and therefore the greater good:beerjug:

here's to paint finisher's:jager

the painter is the one that scrimenger uses for all his work, if you know steve he will get you a price, and yes he does seem reasonable
