World map, how much???

Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
Hi everyone I am hoping to spend a few months in Asia this coming winter diving and would like to get hold of the worldmap. How much does it cost and whats it like in south east asia.

Any one got any experience?

Plus has any one used the blue chart information for the irish south west coast????

There are detail maps (City Select) available for some Asian countries, for example, Japan and Taiwan. You will have to do some research on the local Garmin websites (.jp, .tw, etc.) to get more info.

Yea, but so do the road signs over there, so you can match them up to what you see on the screen of the GPSR.

As far as I know, though, the Asian products use the same lines to draw the roads, lakes and rivers as the North American products.... :D

PS to Ace59: I was just in Poland two weeks ago, you can pretty much forget about using WorldMap, there have been too many new roads added. The European basemap is reasonably good, at least it's newer than WorldMap and supports autorouting (so if there is a difference between where the map shows the road, and where the road really is, it recalculates). I think Garmin will release detailed cartography for Poland this winter - there is already a Croatia product available.
