i have a KTM 250F Exc enduro, was racing yesterday & my clutch was badly slipping & then stopped working alltogether, then when i got home & started the bike the clutch was working again, would the clutch have over heated, i have removed the clutch how do you tell if it is worn as this is the first time i have ever worked on the clutch???????

Hi Stuart
While there's quite a few here who also ride KTMs you'd probably be better off posting your question here.
Good luck with it :thumb2

Stuart How Old is the Bike ? Miles etc e?

Perhaps insufficient clearance in the cable??

If you have no ridges on the plates they may be worn out? A photo here may help?

What oil did you put in it? Gearbox clutch I mean I know it's a 2 stroke it's only the gearbox/clutch oil I'm interested in

My Ducatti 600SS used to slip like a bastard when it was hot!

The problem? Fuchs Silkolene Semi synth! Slippy As!!!!!

Solution Change to a Mineral 10W40 Problem Cured, I presume because it only happened when it was really warm that the oil just simply was "thin" enough to get between the plates and was damn slippy :aidan

So If you have something like that in there???
