wrong clutch fluid DOH

That could only be true if the slave cylinder was actually inside the engine or gearbox. They never are !
On the 1150 I dismantled a few years ago it was linked by a pushrod and a couple of seals.
Your post sounded good , but it's incorrect.
My post is accurate if read properly.
My post opens with "Some bikes".....
Your comment, "They never are" is inaccurate: Many, many bikes have their clutch slave cylinders mounted on the gearbox (engine) housing.
OK, so R engines don't.... BMW may have continued to use mineral oil to be common with their contemporary range.

Whatever, I much prefer working on bikes that use mineral rather than brake fluid

If BMW had used a normal clutch and toroidal slave cylinder we would not have to worry about push rods or cleaning the slave cylinder. Parts costs would also be next to booger all.

KTMs have it worse....

The slave cylinders are poorly made; the o-ring piston seal fails; the fluid passes by this, along the pushrod tube, and into the engine/gearbox.
That's why so many have Oberon replacements!

Stanley , without being pedantic... I'm just curious from an engineering POV.
Can you give an example ? I doubt it !

Where do you live?
I could show you two in my garage (both KTMs btw)!
It's a known issue on many KTMs. Keeps Oberon in business though!
