After a few months laid up because of winter/house decorating etc, I went for a ride to blow away the cobwebs. For some reason driving through lincoln the gears/indicators seem to have got messed up.

The indicator displays '2' when in neutral and I am not able to get the green neutral indictor to display - any ideas?

At back of engine near bottom of shock you'll see a plug socket thing that is the gear lever sensor. It gets wet and the resistance reports a different gear. Dry the socket out and fill with grease.

Common problem on 1200's. :thumb2

A bit of 'magic' spray and all OK - many thanks.;

mine went a couple of weeks ago. unfortunately it would not respond to a bit of cleaning so had to get another. they are not cheap-£80! even when I did cit it it did not work first time. had to take it to southport super bikes for them to reset the ecu and clear the fault. only then did it work properly. have sprayed the new one with loads of fs365 so hopefully it won't happen again.
