hello again,

The headlight on my Xcountry has over the years become cloudy on the inside and at the same time as changing the plug decided to find out whats going on...

After removing the lamp from the shroud etc, found some corrosion on the small 5w bulb terminals, i can only imagine this has created some gas/smoke (nothing burnt) to get into the actual lamp housing, anyway turns out a film of white powery stuff stuck on the inside of the glass.
After a bit of time figgering out how to seperate the glass from the reflector which is actually bonded together so didnt get anywhere with that..
Didn't really want to get the unit wet but just washing with soapy water didnt shift the stuff.
In the end I had to bend the head of a toothbush 90degrees back (heatgun required) also with a used/soft scouring pad scrub the inside of the glass with the brush/pad and soap/water, after about half an hour worked great, perfect! no fog and as new. had to rinse with clean water and dry really well with the heatgun on low and moving side to side quickly so as not to crack the glass or damage the reflector.

Hope that helps anyone with the same lamp issue.

Cheers
Rob

yes I had the same issue with mine I just jammed a cloth in the bulb hole and it wiped off very easily luckily and now looks new . I must say I was very surprised how easy it was
