XChal rear axle - 26mm or 27mm??

The nuts of a KTM are the way to go.

Origanal BMW Nuts are also M20x1,50 and not M20x1,25 like told on the RepROM.

The only thing you have to do is to make the diameter of the washer site of the KTM nut a little bit smaller.

I've only put a KTM nut on the front spindle (no washer needed) and although I didn't check with a thread guage (from my tap and die set) the thread seemed exactly the same when I did it up by hand and the pitch seemed the same

Yep, I fitted the KTM ones and have been on for the last 1000 miles with no issues

Been out today too...................I'll walk out to the Van now and check them, if you like

The Katoom nuts (ref 50310099000) are M20 x 1.5.

Apologies for such old post, but does someone keep on or throw them out the original steel washers underneath the nuts?

I've left mine off because the KTM nut is thick as it is...

Is there any problem to have aluminium nut without this washer??

With my WP forks which have a slightly wider right axle clamp than the stock forks I have been running without the washer for several thousand miles without an issue. The main purpose of the washer will be to reduce wear to the alloy block from the steel nut.

No such problems when the nut is itself alloy then?

Also, does galvanic corrosion, however it works, apply to this case??

If it does, that could be another reason for the washer...
