Hi All,

I am about to get a new laptop which comes pre-installed with XP Home edition. From what I have been told it doesn't come with Microsoft Internet Information Services (this is available from the XP Proff edition) which I need to use SQL Server Express edition.

Do I have to install XP Proff or can I get the program from another source?

Anyone help?

As well as answering Gazzr's question I have another. I'm in a similar situation with a Dell Laptop that arrived yesterday preloaded with Windows XP Home. Can anyone advise if this has the system restore facility as XP Proffesional has. I'd look myself but its not with me at the moment..

Thanks Andy

Gazzr -

what did you get ?

you missed out on a great laptop deal over here just before xmas.

so good - even i bought one

The original budget was $1,500 but due to being in debt after buying a GSA I got a cheaper model Toshiba in the end. An A100/Y03 model. Intel 1.73 Solo, 512ram, 15.4inch, DVD Rom, 40gig HD for $992 from Dick Smiths. (excluding the $100 cash back).

Now I just walked in to JB Hifi and they have the same one for $892!, W@nkers!

Tell me you didnt get a better deal than that?
