xp sp2 & windows media player 10

My xp sp2 machine has started throwing up errors when trying to run anything with windows media player. I tried rolling it back still the same prob, so decidied to try and re-install with no joy, hit regedit and deleted every mediaplayer and wmplayer in the registry but when i try and re-install mediaplayer it is still seeing it as already there.??

Anyone got any idea's and cheers in advance
