Folks,
I have tried to play some music dvds in my PC which is running XP..
I havent tried dvd's before in this PC and im not an expert with them whatsoever, and im getting the following message . . . .

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."

Is there something i need to do/download for me to watch the dvd's at all. ?

Yours stupidly

could be that the dvd is encoded to mpeg4 H.264 while the older windows player may only work on mpeg2.

try the any of the above it should work... however the physical player may not like the newer disc's...:thumb2

Thanks guys.
will try the above tomorrow.

windows media player does not support dvd playback without additional codecs. presumably that is what fanum linked to.
