XT2 - same mount as the XT1?

But for my cent's worth, the screen is too shiny...hence I thought I'd try a shade. But you lot wouldn't know about this cos you've never tried one. So, I'm just saying, they do a job...
No, I actually did use it. I gave it away to a friend. It was useless as I described above.
But, to be fair, I keep my XT flat on the crossbar, so it faces upright like a roadbook. The sunscreen projects zero shade in that position most of the time. Different story probably for people who stick the GPS in the middle of the windscreen brace.

Bigger than wizards sleve and deeper than Santas sack... Very good

Have you though about adjusting the angle of the mount, so that you do not get hassled by the sun?

You are referring to someones deeper pockets, which does imply, that you are poorer than a church mouse, yet you want to farkle up your awesome by means of splashing more cash... :nenau, on top of that, you want to add even more weight, to an already excessively heavy steed, with the rest of the shite bolted on to it and a pile of clobber (assuming that you are a globetrotting type) that probably will never get worn, but just in case......I can't fathom your logic in either case.

What about removing the XT from your bike, whilst you meander the streets of a chosen town, and shoving it into a chest pocket within your jacket, tank bag, or fannypack and hey presto, weigh saving on the bike and money saved for few more evening energy drinks.
You must have a safe place on your person for the phone, passport, bike docs, wallet keys.... or do you keep them on the bike whilst strolling the streets of a sleepy French village?

Go Figure!

Err.... Deeper pockets to hold the flippin satnav!

Weight saving on the bike...if I take the satnav off and take it with me? Saving for the scroats stealing the bike? I don't get your logic

Weight saving? A satnav removal?

I don't mind being ribbed. All par for the course in here

But there's a lot of questionable logic mentioned above. In not going to try and contradict your ways that have clearly been honed over many trouble free years of motorcycling.

But me. I remain unpersuaded. You ain't convincing me

Touratech lockable mount, for those that worry, just saying ;

Not useless

How does your 'lie flat' method fair in the rain? Curious...

Yea. Of course seen that. But I won't bother listing what's wrong with it in here. No one above gives a toss

Pardon me saying, but you are clearly not very bright, if you can not understand a direct response/answers to your own comments. But I am a nice guy, so I will chew it up for you further and feed it to you... :blast

Deeper pockets: Meaning, as you are implying, that we are wealthier than one self.

Weight saving: Meaning, you do not need to buy, completely unnecessary bolton crap for your bike.
Touratech lockable mount is made of stainless steel, weigh of it got to be well over a kilogram, or over two lb in old fashioned denomination. More weight up top above handlebars, meaning, crap handling. But am not an expert, so do not quote me.

Did I mention anything about bike being stolen? regardless whether I have or haven't, your bike is a target, with or without satnav mounted (at all) in the lockable cradle or not. More so here in the UK than it be on the continent.

In Conclusion: Stop fooling yourself and justifying the need for buying more shite, as a result of browsing Touratech catalogue, whilst taking a :poop: in the morning. There are better things to spend you money on.

PS: From personal experience, I used a clip on shade a few years back. It has had more use, sat in the top box... just saying.

Yours Truly...

Not a massive issue unless in a downpour and in very slow moving traffic. And even in those cases, not a big deal.
Riding at speed in the rain prevents most water from reaching the screen as the immediate area behind the windscreen is protected.

For peace and harmony to reign, let’s just accept that:

A. Some bods like and use sun shields, whilst some do not.

B. Some bods are happy to just unclip their GPS from its mount, when they believe it might be at risk. Others believe it is best to secure it at all times.

C. Some bods believe very bad men, could look at the screen and take details of bods’ every movements and most intimate address book. Others do not subscribe to this belief.

D. Some bods believe that their GPS device will fly its mount and seek to tether it. Other bods do not believe this will happen.

Insert other beliefs and disbeliefs at leisure.

Thank you all.

Richard

Oh dear. Wobbly spine.

YOU interpreted deeper pockets was associated with money - YOU were thinking out of context . I was staying in topic

Please, if you can't handle the banter, ribbing and bollox that goes on in here, don't comment. Simple.

As for the faults of the Touratech item. You're telling me . Blimey O'Reilly. Me not bright? That's called 'projection'

First sensible reply

Yes. We all have different requirements

But just for the record. Please stop this Touratech bollox like it's an accusation. I don't own anything from them! Hold on, I do, folding mirrors. That's it

My bike is, incredibly, almost completely stock, bar the satnav, mirrors and heated clothing controller (and its power connection)

Video didn't work for me first viewing.

Yea, can see how when you're moving out would be ok actually. That position wouldn't work for me as on longer trips I tend to use the tank bag. Kind of like also having the satnav as close as 'in-line' with my forward view.

As above. Whatever we find works for ourselves

To be fair to the overseas visitor to our shores, it is the common understanding of the expression. Now that he knows it’s (in this instance) a reference, not to gold but to the availability of pocket space, I am sure he’ll be on the same page again.

PS Though, lacking pocket space, you could always put it into your tank bag. It’s what I do.

....ok, perhaps Nippy Normans or Wunderlich, or even worse, AliExpress......
Anyhow, you seem to be determined type, so I beg your pardon for interrupting your day and the ongoing quest in search for things that you desire....

Yours Truly.

Thank you Richard for the explanation... I indeed have thought that the fellow was referring to us lot having "deep", diamond encrusted pockets. I beg his pardon, for my miss-interpretation, and perhaps I have missed a post, or a reference as to what he was actually referring to.

If I haven't got my Tank Bag with me, (hardly ever) then, chest pocket XT does go into. Every Rukka jacket that I own, has one on the inside, some have two.
