OH FFS! How many times on how many web sitesIts photoshopped. Its been around for a year and ITS NOT REAL!
P.S. The Yam is pants.

As others have suggested, it would look good with a beak ....

I have heard a rumour that Rotax are stopping production of the 650 single cylinder which they still supply to BMW, though BMW then have a tinkle about with it, and this means that if BMW are to retain a thumper in the range they might well have a look at the Yamaha engine which, so I'm told, is used in many guises and is very cheap to produce.
The rumour was from a good source and I am now wondering if a new Dakar with the 650 is really what I should be looking at buying just now. Maybe the first road tests of the new Yamaha will give an indication if it's worth waiting for the new engine or rush in and get one of the remaining Rotax based lumps.

Indeed! That TDM engine is lovely IMHO, they really should use it in other bikes in thier rangeI like the look of the Yam but it is still a single.
Anyone know if they plan to bring out a supertenere with a
TDM engine?
and the KTM 690 Adventure will blow it away on all levels when it is launched soon
I'm clearly missing something here
While I can see the appeal of a lightweight bike and I'm only too pleased to see somebody get one over BMW. The Yam 660 is hardly a machine to get orgasmic over. nice idea but the appeal goes out the window when you're tootling up the road on a spindly little thing like that and trying not to go above it's terminal wobble speed...
