Right, I'm keen on getting a yamaha FJR 1300 (manual).
Must have panniers, not really bothered about a top box.
A good service history would be a bonus.
2016 onwards (6 speed box) if possible, but I'm open to see what's about.
Must be a goodun, no bangers please.
Also checking out auto trader. There are some nice examples on there.
Wodddaya got?

I know there were some recalls about stuff but not sure what they were

OK it is Ai assisted with the answer but it is cosha :
The Transmission Recall Explained
  • The Defect:
On 2016-2020 model year FJR1300s, the second gear in the six-speed transmission was not strong enough for high-speed loads, leading to cracks and eventual breakage.
  • The Danger:
If the second gear breaks, the transmission can lock up, causing the rear wheel to lock as well, which poses a significant risk of losing control of the motorcycle.

  • Models Affected:
The recall specifically targeted FJR1300A, FJR1300AE, and FJR1300PA motorcycles manufactured between December 9, 2015, and February 2, 2020.

  • The Fix:
Yamaha dealerships performed a free repair that included inspecting the transmission, reprogramming the engine control unit (ECU), and replacing the main and drive axle assemblies.
The main reason I went for a Gen 2 and also railed against the Gen 3 with its 6 speed box and many of whom have electronic suspension and needs replacing if it goes belly up as none repairable at vast expense. I bought the FJR in this guise MKii as a far more reliable bet then any BM like an RT (Do we need the roll call of numerous BM faults..) The Mk 11 with its five speed box can hit 154 mph if you fancy (if you are daft enough) and makes effortless overtakes in 5th at high speed. It was form over funtion that Yam went the 6 speed run to be "Fashionable" My Honda ST 1300 has a 5 speed box and does not need a blingy sixth gear. All being said you pays the wedge and you makes your own choice.

The local blood bike group, in I think 2016, bought a few of the outgoing 2015 model- last of the 5 speed with cruise & other toys but not electric suspension.
They lasted well with hard use. Yes a little bit buzzy at higher speeds on the m-way but only if you've become used to a 6 speeder.
If I wanted to change my R1250RT to an FJR, the late 5 speed is pretty good all-round.

Nothing out there? Bar the two I've already viewed on here.

I've been thinking about selling my 1 Previous Owner, 2015 Model, but at 62k miles, I'm guessing it'll be too high up on the Mileage for you?
It's in excellent Condition and has been Serviced to the Hilt (incl. the Infamous Lower Link Replacement), and also comes with OEM 3 Box Luggage.
I'd be looking at around £4250.
PM me if it's of interest.

FJR now purchased.
Check out my Bandit, it's awesome and up for sale.

Thank you
