Hi I;m posting this for an 86 year old friend who is having health problems and cannot ride anymore.
He is the second owner of this bike when it was 1 year old. He is a mechanic and did most of his own servicing. It runs nicely and has new metzeler tyres. the mot is out of date as he has been unable to get the bike there but it has only covered a hundred miles since jan 2024 Mot.
It seems to me in very good condition for age but is not a garage queen.
he has said he wants a fair £1800 but I guess some of you guys may be able to help with that..The battery is good and he alternates a battery tender between his 3 bikes.
The bike is located in burgess hill West Sussex.
It can be viewed there.
he would be prepared to guarantee they would go through an MOT and cover cost or refund if dent.
I can find out any details and his daughter will be sorting out any viewing times and she is sensible.
he also has 2 Yamaha 600 diversions which are in good condition mechanically wise, and ideal winter hacks.
I will post separately for them but they have doe 19,000 miles and 32,000miles and he wants around £600 each.

'Just' an FJ1200 rather than the R bit or the diversion bit...but they were always a very highly regarded bike. Hopefully he'll get his £1800...seems a fair price

If anyone thinking of doing the Longest Day challenge, one of the 600s would be perfect as the nominal requirement is a bike that cost max 600 quid. I was planning to do that myself this year but unfortunately my son's wedding gets in the way 😄

The FJ1200 still has a following, so a clean one like this will sell at the right price. Try on FB Marketplace or an FJ forum.
It looks like it's got an ancient ME33 Lazer front tyre, in which case it'll steer like a pig. New tyres recommended.
GLWS.
