Yamaha RD500LC Special

World class work - one day I hope I can send something your way for the CT magic.

Any power figures for the motor?

You will find it hard to give it back no matter how much money is involved. Jjh

I know what's involved, I used to dabble in a bit of bike painting and repairs, but never to that anywhere close to that level.

A masterpiece. ... :thumb

Truly amazing, I do love it when you start a new Tread. :thumby:

What they said. :clap

Cheers for the comments guys! :thumb

For anyone interested in seeing this bike in the flesh, it is being displayed at the Stafford Show this weekend. It's on the RD LC club stand. If anyone does go I'd love to see a couple of photos of it on display! :thumb

To answer a couple of questions - The bike does run but that's it, it's been fired up but never ridden since being rebuilt. John started it up for me when it arrived but using a tiny feeder bottle with a cup full of fuel in it, it sounds very much like the bike in the video below and I'm lead to believe that the engine is of similar spec, the quoted number is around 140BHP but the proof will come when it gets set up on the dyno in November. That in turn answers another question, no I didn't get to ride it, there's still a bit of ironing out to do, the exhausts are slightly leaking two stroke oil down into the belly pan and the original fuel lines need a little reworking. John has decided not to fire it up before Stafford show just to save him the grief of having to clean it up again. He has however promised to bring it back when it's all buttoned up and ready to go so I can take it out for a spin! That's likely to be in the spring now though ........

Hope you have fast reactions, when that comes on song it will be an animal. As usual that looks like stunning work.

Saw it Stafford and it's better in the flesh than in the pictures. It's truly awesome.

When I saw this bike about 4 weeks ago, despite being an LC nut I barely gave it a second glance, it was so 'cosmetically challenged'.

And now it's Highly Commended... :D

Well done, that's all the more impressive given the original starting point - great work :clap
