Welcome Dave. Would be good to hear your views of the RT once you get a few miles on it :thumb2

Dave,

Thanks for the photos - I only have another 8 weeks to wait for my new RT! :D

After having owned 3 GSs over the years, I test rode the new RT & GSA yesterday & ended up ordering a new RT. Delivery sometime in May in plenty of time for the summer :bounce1

thankyou for the welcomes

well i rode the RT when it arrived at the Local dealership . They asked me to run it in for them and bed the tyres in ready for the Launch couple of weeks ago , so adding up the miles from that , i have around 1000 under my belt on the LC version

it pulls out of the bends alot quicker than the outgoing version , you do notice the HP difference. it feels more smoother and lighter when flicking it around , even though its actually heavier. Not too sure on the Air assisted gear box !! its clunky .maybe due to being new, but its a strange sensation going down the box without the clutch.

The Hill start is just like being in a car and releasing the handbrake..!! you have to do it slowly by feeding out the front brake lever, I used this "gimmick" in wales today, was quite useful on ..erm...the hills!

I opted for the Motoraad satnav V and the audio system . I have not had these before so dont know what they are like in comparison to the "older" ones.

It was returning a decent fuel consumption , pretty much the same really around 50 MPG. my bikes has Conti tyres on , the one i used to run in had Metz tyres on , i preferred the metzs,,,,they just gave me a tad more confidence , im sure both tyres will do a very similar job at the end of the day.

All good so far ....early days though ...touch wood !

Hi and welcome Dave.

The new RT is a very special bike indeed, so good that I've just traded in my GSA for on myself.

I was all set on getting the new GSA until i tested it, then rode the RT after.

This RT is just a brilliant bit of kit, and makes much more sense as a long distance road bike, than the GS/GSA's.

Enjoy.

Did 100k on my 1150rt: great bike but wow the 1200rt is an improvement. Looking forward to getting the new one!
