Yorkhill Easter Egg Run 2011
The Yorkhill Easter Egg Motorbike Run has been a tradition in Glasgow for over ten years, and to many bikers, is the unofficial start of the biking season. Thousands of motorbikes gather every Easter Sunday to take part in a huge procession through the west end of Glasgow, culminating at Yorkhill Hospital, where they drop off Easter Eggs and donations for the sick children.
You don't want to miss this spectacular event. Get your bike out, get it polished and ready and join the procession of 3000 motorbikes, trikes and quads winding their way through the west end of Glasgow to the children at Yorkhill Hospital.
The Run has raised over £130,000 over the years, with £12,500 being raised in 2010. This year, with Yorkhill Children's Foundation celebrating its tenth anniversary, the aim is to top £30,000 in donations! A donation page has been set up on Justgiving.com for those who wish to donate online - please click here. Or you can text “yorkhill egg” to 70003 to give £3. Or just donate on the day!
There's a new route for 2011, with the old traditional start point of Kelvin Way being resurrected. A 6.5 mile run will wind through the west end of Glasgow, up Great Western Road and down Crow Road towards Yorkhill Hospital. The Route http://www.independentphoto.co.uk/yeer/2011 route.pdf
