Go above the 25kph limit and they are harder work.

You are carrying approx 10kg extra weight and going against the resistance of the motor

I rode it switched off a fair bit, only turning it on, on some of the uphill schleps. It’s bloody heavy!

I reckon if you wanted to get mega fit, just don’t ever turn it on. You’ll burn double the calories of a normal bike. ;)

Have you got a shock pump?

Have a play with the pressure settings in the suspension air tanks to. You may get it even sweeter if you get it right for your weight and riding style / places. :thumb2

Might go tubeless; maybe later.

Will have a read of the manual to see how to adjust the suspension, but tbh I gave them my weight and they set it up for me, so is pretty good as is.
 
Toddy although your total trail ride distance is lower than it would be on a Husky ride - Distance on the actual trail will be similar, certainly in my neck of the woods I can string together a lot of trails with the odd quite footpath and have very little road work.

Btw if you’re taking the plunge go for a Turbo Levo Carbon frame with the 700w battery - An alternative is buy a 2019 carbon comp and look for a sub £5000 price and ask the dealer to set the wheel circumference to 2000mm :D

......but then again my hand built carbon rode bike was nearly £10k and that's rubbish off road, as I found out when I missed a corner on an Alpine hairpin doing the Marmotte a few years back!

Good point about the off road sections, as there's a lot more that you can legally ride so I reckon I could put together some good routes really easily round here as there's lots of bridelways.

Just got to work out how to sneak it in the garage now as I suspect I'm on a one in one out rule!

You need to go tubless, get a plug kit and Co2 pump - I use Peatys sealant. I’ve had several punctures and it works really well sometimes you only realise you’ve had a puncture because you find a sealant streak up your back when you get back home
 
I was told by my local bike shop NOT to use the Co2 cartridges if you’ve gone tubeless.
 
Some times a good off road route will resort in the use of footpaths. No problem with a mountain bike but an electric bike weighs a ton and wouldn't be too easy to lift over stiles. And I know that I shouldn't be riding on footpaths but needs must.

Some of the best off road rides are singletrack through woods and across craggy mountain sides. I can't imagine they would be much fun on a hefty electric bike.

I think it will be a long time before I trade my carbon Zesty for an electric bike.

Some, like the superior Cube/Bosh bikes that Nutty and I have, have a walk assist mode. When you are pushing your bike up an obstacle that you can't ride up, you activate walk assist and the bike crawls along with you walking alongside holding it. That dont help when lifting it though.

Yep, it was a bit of a surprise when I had to lift it up, to get it over a small footbridge. No dramas though. I’d imagine it would be quite a mission to lift it onto a roof rack though! The rest of the time, the extra weight works to your advantage, and when it would normally be an issue, just switch to electric. :beerjug:

If you’re gonna be putting it on a roof rack take the battery off first. It’ll save a few kgs lifting it onto your roof.

I bought a Thule 2 bike carrier that snaps onto your towbar. I then took the 2nd bike carrier parts off it so it’s only holding my Ebike. I can get it all on and off in about 2 minutes now. :thumb2Personally I wouldn’t want to put it on a roof carrier system because of the extra weight but you may need to. :nenau

A lot of my routes have footpaths/stiles, including last night's 20 miler round Caulke Abbey, and yes it's heavier than a non-ebike, but not as heavy as my first steel mountain bike from 20 years ago No big deal to carry it over..... And like a GS, once you're on the move there is no feeling of weight.
I've done as much serious stuff on mine as I ever did on my pedaller.... more in fact because of the benefits of the E of awsomeness! :) :) :)
