You all told me.....

I’m seeing a UKGSer Flintergill Hill Climb being a future Dent fixture - It’ll take more than just grunt on those early lose rocks and rider fitness to keep pushing to the top lane finish line

It’d be like the Dad’s army of eBikers all on one campsite. :D

I very nearly went for the Specialized without looking at the alternatives, but for the money, the Cube has it nailed.

Having never ridden an ebike before, and with nobody offering demos at the moment, I had to take a bit of a punt, but am glad I did now.

Agreed on the buying local, but at the moment, that could be tricky for you? The nearest Specialized dealer to me is about 20 miles away, which is a bit too far, if I have any issues. Especially as it would be quite an effort to lift this thing in and out of the car, battery or not. It probably wouldn’t even fit in the car anyway, unless I remove both wheels.

Saying that though, the guys I got mine from are the biggest ebike dealer in the UK, or so they claim, so will get the bike set up for you and ship it. All you’ll need to do is put the front wheel/seat/pedals/handlebars on, and away you go. If you’ve got someone local to you that can service it without getting stroppy that they didn’t supply the bike, then online will get the best deals.

If you do go down the Cube route, and buy online, there’s another online dealer offering bikes with around 10% off, so you can still save a decent amount, if you can wait a couple of weeks for delivery.

If you had tried a Specialized, I reckon you may have bought one - I tried all the alternatives before I bought and all found them lacking

Warranty and Support from Specialized UK is the best around (bit like BMW) and even now, if your motor blows at 4-5 years old and out of warranty, they do a supported motor replacement scheme at £450 incl Vat, fitted

Try that with a Bosch bike and as my mate found out, with his Haibike he was on his own and had to stump up £700-£800 (plus labour) for a motor replacement or just dump the bike

The Levo is the most intuitive platform and all controlled from your phone app - no wonder Specialised is the number 1 ebike seller worldwide

I still think you will end up eventually with a Levo/Kenevo and let your Missus have the Cube, just a feeling I have:D

Maybe I would have, but I’m more than happy with the Cube, and have no regrets whatsoever. ;)

The dealer that sold me my Levo now sells more Cube, £4£ they are a better spec and the new motor has closed the gap on the Brose motor.

Getting a good (sub £5k) deal on a 2019 Levo Carbon Comp is a good spec4£ alternative - I’d like the 700W battery buts it’s £1100!

Just spoken at length to my local Cube dealer, he has almost talked me out of buying a Cube :blast said they are decent value but not impressed by the frame and if it were him, he wouldn't be spending that money on one, said the Focus is better value.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned Merida as a brand, they own 49% of Specialized and make the carbon frames, they make over 2 million cycles a year and are an OEM for other brands too.
I’ve had one of there EMB for over 2 years now, the E160 900E, the bike is amazing in all aspects and has brilliant reviews, just because the brand name isn’t as hip as some of the others don’t dismiss it, 4 of my friends have the same bike and they all do trials and enduros.

Nice mudguards too

Seems Specialized have some major issues with reliability of their motors, interesting what you find out once you do a bit of research.
